Weapon Groups

This is one feature we’ve really been looking forward to; the ability to group weapons, then aim and fire them as if they were one. Think batteries of mortars raining terror from above and arrays of anti-air machine-guns pegging them out of the sky. It’s a lot of fun to use.

Groups add a mechanism for efficient weapon management: instead of having to select and aim the weapons in sequence, you can do it for several at once. It also has a bit of shock and awe value, demoralising an enemy with a show of strength.

Of course it could be taken too far, so we’ve clamped the maximum group membership at 3. This seems to be enough to help counter the AI’s ability to use weapons rapidly and simultaneously. We’ve yet to try it in a human vs. human multiplayer game.
